Cutting
We operate
4 automatic band saws to cut tubes with diameters up to 762mm
(30"). Larger diameter tubes, up to 2,500mm OD (100"),
are flame cut.
Our standard cutting tolerances are +/- 3mm (0.120") for
saw cutting and - 0mm/+ 15mm (0.625") for flame cutting.
We can, if necessary, work to tighter tolerances.
Welding
Fully
qualified welders routinely fabricate tubes in long lengths (up
to 32m) by means of one or more circumferential welds. Sheet
piles, flanges, brackets etc. can also be welded to the tubes.
Copies of our welder's qualifications and of our standard welding
procedures can be supplied. If requested, we seek to work to
our customer's welding procedures.
Shot-blasting
We clean
the outside surface of pipes with diameters up to 1000mm (40")
with our automatic shot-blaster. For larger pipe sizes, or cleaning
the inside of pipes, we use hand held equipment.
Painting and
coating
We apply
most paints and coatings in house, from simple water-based primers
through to glass flakes epoxy coating systems.
Inspection
and Testing
We sell
non-prime steel tubes that do not carry the customary prime products
certification. Our customers or their agents are encouraged and
welcomed to visit our premises to inspect the goods we offer.
We often arrange for material analysis or tests on behalf of
our customers. These are carried out by independent UKAS registered
laboratories or by customer nominated agents.
