Originally from Canada, Sarah graduated last year from the Cumbria Institute of the Arts. She set up her workshop in the cow shed of her farm in rural Cumbria where her inspiration is all around her.

Her subjects (so far) are cats, dogs and hares. They are lazy, long-legged models in a range of sizes, poses and breeds and are hand-built using coarse magma clay. The initial firing is done at 1000 C. The sculptures are then painted and sometimes glazed before the second firing at 1500 C.
